Dr. Rick's Monthly Question
August 2001
Question:
Why do we slouch?
Answer:
Gravity pulls us down. Eventually, gravity wins! Ninety percent of adults have a forward head posture! That's not normal, just prevalent. It comes from slouching forward. Sitting in front of the TV or computer is the biggest culprit. Improper posture has devastating consequences. But we can do a lot to slow it down. Chiropractic adjustment, traction, daily stretches and exercises all help. This and more is outlined in my January through March 2000 articles for Instep Dance Magazine.
